About this Presenter

Selma Houston was born in the beautiful island of Jamaica, West Indies. She and her family later relocated to the United States in the early 1990’s and settled in New York. In her early childhood, she was baptized into the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, and became an active member in music ministry and other ministries in her local church. Her heart’s longing has always been to be used by the Lord and to make heaven her home.

Selma earned an undergraduate degree in psychology from the State University at Albany. Her desire to make a difference in the lives of others led her to pursue a masters degree in the field of social work. Today she works in the criminal justice system, providing support and rehabilitation to offenders with mental health challenges. When she is not at work, Selma enjoys singing, hiking, and traveling. She also enjoys interior design and event planning.

Although she has faced many trials and struggles in her life, Selma has learned to rely upon faith in Jesus to get her through tough times. She can truly testify that Jesus has always been there for her, guiding and upholding her every step of the way.
